Blog this, sucker!
Yeah, so I finally joined Blogger to try out their blogging service. It's quite functional, actually. The AJAX-interface is as smooth as a baby's behind, the selection of default templates is stylish and complete, and it's exceptionally easy to get started with.
In other news, I started playing around with Audioscrobbler and Last.fm again, and found it quite fun. Seeing what other people with similar taste listened to is very interesting, and having it compile charts and map out my own listening habits is great.
So what have I been up to lately? Well, except for watching the entire X-files series, not much. This friday I'm going to see Depeche Mode and Muse here in Stockholm, and the week after I'm starting my summer job. I'll be working in the IT department at Stockholm University, helping out where ever I'm needed.
I'm also contemplating the move over to Linux. Windows XP has been on my desktop computer for as long as I've had my own machine. The only good reason for keeping it is that while there are plenty of OpenSource alternatives out there, none of them really cut it in the end. Winamp5 has an unbeatable concept in it's Media Library and Jump-to dialog. Photoshop CS2 does work through wine, but not as stable as I would want it to. Also, for some reason, everything in Gnome or KDE seems to be way bigger than in Windows XP. Text is bigger and more spaced out, buttons and menus take up more room. I know there are plenty of more lightweight windowmanagers out there (Like Fluxbox or Ion), but they seem more focused towards coders or developers in general. I work more graphically than in the terminal (though I'm definitely not CLI-shy) and I like the feeling of completeness and stability that KDE gives me.
Hmm... Maybe I should give writing a review of the latest Ubuntu a shot. Get my gripes out in the open :)
